Welcome to the St. Paul United Methodist Church website! We’re glad you found us, and we invite you to take a few moments and explore the ministry of our unique faith community.
As United Methodists, we are grounded in the grace of God, which claims us and loves us as we are and empowers us to be changed into all that God intends for us to be. We are rooted in the scriptural call to become followers of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community and to invite others to experience the love of Jesus Christ. We do this through worship, study, and through many fellowship and mission opportunities.
Please accept our invitation to join us on Sunday mornings for Sunday School at 10:00am and Worship Service at 11:00am. Check out the calendar on the site and join us for the various events at St. Paul UMC. Feel free to call or email with questions! We want to get to know you and hope that you will find a place to grow in your walk with God and to belong in a community of grace and love.

The 2016 statements will be in the front of the sanctuary to be picked up, each Sunday through the end of January. If you have any questions or need your statement mailed, please contact Lori at the church office at 803-874-2166. Thank you so much for your contributions to St. Paul UMC!
The hospitality committee needs your help - this meeting is open to all church members interested in helping with event planning and various hospitality tasks. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30pm on Monday, January 23 to plan some events and create Event Teams (with a rotating monthly schedule) to make it easy and fun for everyone! If you can't make it to this meeting but want to be involved, just reply to this email or contact Sara or Lori at the church office at 803-874-2166 and will add you to an Event Team for 2017. We look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
If you are on the Church Council Committee, please mark your calendar for Monday, January 30 at 6pm (we will meet in the Fellowship Hall)
Wear your favorite football team shirt to church on Sunday, February 5!
The first Sunday of every month is "Food Pantry Sunday." There will be baskets in the sanctuary for your donations. St. Paul provides food for several families within our community, and we couldn't do it without your help. Donations are appreciated any time (just bring them by the office during the week or place them on the counter by the food pantry on Sundays) but we are excited about this new program as we hope to greatly increase our food stock to better help feed these families in need. Thank you for all you do!
The 2017 flower calendar is up (in the back of the sanctuary). You can sign up to provide flowers for the altar for any available Sunday.
There is a basket full of children's books in the Sunday School Sanctuary. These are free to take, share, keep or give away. Mr. Jake Culclasure regularly brings in children's books. This is a great joy for him, and he loves hearing how much the children are enjoying the books.
CHILDREN'S BOOK BASKET **Update**
We are so excited to see so many books taken from the book basket! If you have any children's books (all kinds!) you can donate to our book basket, just bring them by the office or drop them in the basket, located in the Sunday School Sanctuary. Any surplus will be added to our church library and/or given to the Calhoun County Library at a future date.
